Our Approach with Psychotherapy

Bayside Village Counselling is very people oriented and believes in making everyone feel safe, secure and relaxed. It’s important to put everything into perspective and allow people to grow and move at ease.

It’s important to help everyone feel connected rather than disconnected which is at the heart of the approach used.

We have worked with people from all walks of life, who have experienced so many difficult and challenging struggles. Psychotherapy is the primary core modality used, due to its unique and benevolent way it has on many of our clients, it is found that it helps many clients feel connected rather than disconnected which is at the heart of the approach. This process is dynamic and succinct as it is incorporated into your journey, as the therapist and client journey together in a holistic way, we make sure you are seen, understood and heard as an individual.

It is a fine-tuned process to be able to follow each and everyone’s unique style of communication (the way you communicate) either through auditory, kinaesthetic ( through touch), visual, world channel ( you may be focusing on issues concerning our planet) or through a movement channel.

Psychotherapy helps remove the trauma or stuck pattern that’s holding clients or preventing them from moving forward.

Psychotherapy helps clients take steps forward and we incorporate the following techniques:

  1. Role Play

Role play is often used when someone needs an ally and they need to switch and trial out what another person is doing, saying or hearing. This provides the client with a complete 360 of what’s going on.

  1. Art Therapy

Art therapy is each and everyone’s opportunity to be creative, every person is usually unaware that the problem is pouring out onto a piece of paper.

  1. Incorporating symbol work

This is often used when someone is too scared or can’t describe what events took place, where, and how. The client gets to choose what symbols are used for whom, and how and where they are placed. This is said to be very therapeutic.
